By accessing or using Gradients.design, you agree to be bound by these terms of service. If you do not agree to all of these terms, do not use the service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the operator of Gradients.design.
Gradients.design provides a website for browsing gradient designs and color palettes, and a free Chrome extension that replaces your new tab page with curated gradient backgrounds.
You may create an account to access additional features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
Paid subscriptions (Starter, Pro, and Studio) are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) in EUR via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method at the beginning of each billing cycle. You may cancel at any time from the Stripe Customer Portal (accessible from your account page); access continues until the end of the current billing period and no refund is issued for the remainder of the cancelled period.
Right of withdrawal (Widerrufsrecht): under EU consumer law you have a 14-day right of withdrawal on a new subscription. By starting to use paid features (e.g. exporting at 2K or above) immediately upon subscribing, you expressly waive your right of withdrawal under § 356 (5) BGB.
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle after the notice period.
Gradients, images, and code that you create using our tools belong to you. You retain full ownership and intellectual property rights to any output you generate and export.
Gradients and assets exported using the free tier are licensed for personal, non-commercial use only. The exported file includes a small watermark.
With an active paid subscription (Starter, Pro, or Studio), you are granted a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use exported gradients and assets for both personal and commercial purposes, including in client work, product packaging, marketing materials, and resale within larger creative works (e.g. as a background in a sold design template).
You may not redistribute or resell exported gradients as a standalone product or as a gradient pack, library, or template collection that competes directly with this service.
If your paid subscription ends, the commercial license for assets exported during the active subscription period continues to apply to those specific assets. The license to export new commercial-use assets reverts to the free tier (personal use only) until you resubscribe.
We reserve the right to modify, add, or remove any features, gradient types, rendering engines, presets, palettes, styles, export formats, or other functionality at any time without prior notice. This includes the removal of previously available presets or features. Your subscription grants access to the service as it exists at the time of use, not to any specific feature set. Changes to the service are not grounds for a refund.

The Gradients.design application, including its design, source code, GLSL shaders, rendering engines, built-in presets, curated palettes, user interface, and branding, is the intellectual property of its creators and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
The service is provided for your use under these terms, but the underlying technology, software, and creative assets that power the application remain our exclusive property. No rights are transferred except the limited license to use the service as described herein.
Your preferences and favorites are stored locally in your browser. We do not collect personal information or store your data on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
We may suspend or terminate access to the service at any time for violation of these terms. You may stop using the service or uninstall the extension at any time. Sections relating to intellectual property, limitation of liability, and indemnification survive termination.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Gradients.design and its operator from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
Gradients.design is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any specific feature, preset, or rendering engine will remain available.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Gradients.design and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Germany. If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the service or email with at least 14 days' notice. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree to the revised terms, you must stop using the service and cancel any active subscription.
